About Me

The boundless possibility of trying out and the instant knowledge of the outcome that stimulates one for further analysis of a rationale in question is what I find most appealing about Computer Science. Keeping up an inquisitive and explorative attitude, I believe, leads to a constant learning process. This approach adds to the already immense potential for innovation that exists in this field.

Dr. Vishnu Prakash Devarajan, MSc (UK)., MS (USA)., MBA., PhD(USA) as a Director of Information Technology in Open Source Inc, I look to educate and share my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest to people through workshops. I believe my exposure and experience towards Information Technology will serve to give direction to enhance people’s career as a professional at an academic or commercial, research-oriented organization.

Through my career, I have benefited from the breadth of content that has given me a comprehensive exposure to the core areas of Computer Science and a strong conceptual understanding of the same. In these seven years of experience, I have strived to maintain an approach of expending independent effort in all my endeavors. Learning by me and sharing my knowledge with others has been most worthwhile, when comprehending a concept.

Over the first two years of my employment, I have developed an interest in the areas of Embedded Systems, Mobile Computing, Pervasive Computing, Web Development and networking.  The work involved in this, Embedded systems, Mobile Technologies, Pervasive Computing and Networking have lead me to appreciate the intricacies involved in this field. In college, I always enjoyed long hours in the labs. It gave me the opportunity to correlate theory to practical phenomena. This in turn gave me a better understanding of the subject and newer lines of thinking.

For my PhD Computer Science project, I have concentrated on my area of interest viz. Embedded Systems, Mobile Computing and Pervasive Computing with Cloud gained me a huge exposure towards new technologies and techniques. Working on the projects gave me a sound technical base. But the greatest advantage of involving me in these activities was that I developed the ability to multi-task effectively. Besides the college academics I was actively involved in the extra-curricular activities like marketing my business in small shops, freelancing technical projects in developing Mobile and web based projects. I wanted to self-finance my education and worked part-time. I was also an active amateur environmentalist. The driving force behind all this was my aim to develop all the facets of my personality. In this process, I could not achieve the grades I wanted to in the first fall. But soon I garnered the skill of judicious allocation of time and energy. I did well finally. Moreover, I do not feel that the marks I scored are the sole indicators of my understanding of the subject.

A cogent reason to augment my belief is the final year of my bachelor’s degree.

One person’s life influences the lives of an unbelievable number of people, one of the most important lessons I learned, being the Head of the Apex Body at senior secondary level (11th and 12th standard). Hence the need of responsible actions, Becoming the youngest Head of the Apex Body ever and the only one to have served for a period of two years eventually turned out to be a confidence booster. It taught me that the basis for good work is self-reliance and very importantly, time management. Not all of my entire two years were devoid of shortcomings. I learned to accept both criticism and praise with a positive frame of mind. My work involved organizing and conducting various events, that brought with them the opportunity to work and interact with various kinds of people. This was a distinctively gratifying experience for me, which I feel would stand in good stead in the future, especially in lieu of any teaching experience.

Today as an entrepreneur, I have trained more than 500 Architects and 1000’s of developers in Mobile Technologies, Software Technologies and Web Technologies. I perceive that life for me has been a process of conscious evolution. The most integral part of this growth is the value system imbibed in me by my parents, teachers and my mentors and an intrigued liking for science. This played a vital role in my decision making for the future. However my liking for science guided me into pursuing a Degrees and Diplomas in Computer Science. This decision gave me ample opportunity to consolidate my creative energies and harness my technical aptitude.

In conclusion, I would like to add that the essence of Workshop education lies in the synergetic relationship between the student and his department. I feel that Workshop at your college will be the most logical extension of my career pursuits and a major step towards achieving my objectives. I would be grateful to you if I’m accorded the opportunity to conduct a workshop with financial assistance at your esteemed institution and am able to justify your faith in me.
